Holds Management is mainly handled by the patron from their account in Encore, but library staff can also place and cancel Holds for patrons.
To Cancel a Patron’s Hold, you will go to the Holds tab from the Sierra Checkout function.
You will see the Patron’s holds from this tab. The Status tab will indicate if the hold is in the process of being satisfied. You would not want to cancel a hold that is already Ready for Pickup.
To Cancel a request, highlight the hold by placing a check in the corresponding check box. When you do, the Cancel Holds button will become ‘live’
Clicking on the Cancel Holds button will cancel the hold for the patron.
