Holds management is mainly handled by the patron from their account online, but library staff can also place and cancel holds for patrons.
To cancel a patron’s hold, go to the Holds tab in the patron account in Sierra’s Check Out (Circulation Desk) function.
You will see the patron’s holds on this tab. The Status column indicates if a hold is in the process of being satisfied. You do not want to cancel a hold that is already Ready for Pickup.
To cancel a request, highlight the hold by checking the corresponding check box. When you do this, the Cancel Holds button will become ‘live.’
Click Cancel Holds to cancel the selected hold(s) for the patron.
