About
The MHLS Staff Pick Pilot Project will enable us to harness the readers advisory skills of library workers across our 66 member libraries to highlight titles in the shared print and digital collections access through our shared interfaces of the online catalog, mobile app, and OverDrive/Libby.
Our hope is that this engages our members’ workforce with the system’s ability to help promote what they are great at – connecting readers with good books – as well as to promote titles that may go unnoticed in members’ collections without promotion.
Policies and Details
- Library workers at MHLS member libraries are invited to suggest 1-2 titles to help us create a “Staff Picks” list and/or suggest a theme for a future staff picks display.
- Staff Picks will be highlighted monthly.
- Not all suggested titles or themes may be chosen for the digital display.
- Chosen titles will be posted for approximately 30 days in the Staff Picks section.
- Staff who suggest a title and explain why they picked the title may be featured in a Libby Shelf Talker if they grant permission to use their first name, last initial and library name to go with the recommendation.
