When a patron’s hold request is filled, it changes from a Bib level hold to a hold that is on a particular item. There are times when you may need to transfer an item level hold back to a bib level hold. This might happen if an item gets lost en route to your patron or arrives damaged during delivery.
If you want to transfer the hold back to the bibliographic record, search for the title in the catalog
From the record, select the Item level hold
Highlight the item you want to transfer and select the Transfer Holds button.
Sierra will provide the option to transfer the hold to the bibliographic record or to another item record. When you locate the record you wish to transfer the hold to, highlight the record and click OK.
